As we live in this world that gets more and more dangerous each day, we are afraid of known and unknown threats. We are also afraid of what the future brings. We are afraid of losing our job, family, health, and possessions. We are even afraid of losing our lives.
I am very sure many of us has been a prisoner of fear at one time or another. It might be the fear of rejection, misunderstanding, uncertainty, sickness, or even death, but the Lord wants us to conquer our fears. Psalm 27 opens with David voicing his confidence in God. psalm 27 vs 1 says The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall, I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid? And in vs 12 David show he had many fears. David sad Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes, for false witnesses rise up against me, spouting malicious accusations.
Just like David, even though we know the Lord is with us, we sometimes have doubts.
At times we can feel that the problems we face are impossible to solve. Everything seems to be against us. But we have God, his presence, his help, and we should not be afraid. Nothing is impossible for God. When God is with us, we can face anything with confidence.
Sometimes we spend so much time talking about what is wrong in our lives. We replay the worst images in our mind of the worst-case scenarios. We don’t take enough time to express our faith and say, “Lord, even if this bad situation becomes worse, I know you would still be there for me. I have confidence in this. You are the God of the extremes in my life.” Express your faith, and then extend your faith.
As I was trying to write this commentary and doing the study on Psalm 27, the words would not flow, there was a fear of something that I’m not quite sure of , that was trying to stop me from doing this video.
I realized We are in a battle in this world - a spiritual warfare battle. We may not see it; we might forget it is there. But the enemy would love nothing more than to fill our minds with discouragement and defeat.
If you are a true believer of Christ, you will not go for long without encountering spiritual warfare through obstacles and attacks coming your direction. God reminds us in His word to stay aware of Satan’s schemes, to live alert in this world, and to stay close to Him.
1 Chronicles 22 vs 19 says Now devote your heart and soul to seeking the Lord your God. Begin to build the sanctuary of the Lord God, so that you may bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord and the sacred articles belonging to God into the temple that will be built for the Name of the Lord.”
Prayer is one of the most powerful weapons God has given us, many of us are in desperate need of God’s help. We may have lost our ability to hear God or simply found ourselves in a dark place and God seems distant.
In these moments, God is ready to help us. He may appear far but that could not be further from the case. He can hear us clearly when we call out to Him. There is hardly a better time to pray than now.
Starting your day with prayer is a great way to begin your day. When you wake up in the morning, your mind and heart may feel heavy, especially when you are focusing on all the stress that comes with day to day life.
Setting out time for prayer daily can center you and bring your focus to the place where it needs to be. The truth is, sometimes we know we need God’s assistance, but we just do not know what to pray. Let’s get into agreement as we pray.
My father in heaven you are my light and my salvation whom shall, I fear? You are the stronghold of my life of whom shall I be afraid? I know When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foe who will stumble and fall.
When an army try to besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident. Abba father, one thing I ask from you, that I may dwell in your house all the days of my life, to gaze on your beauty and to seek you in your temple.
Because lord , I know For in the day of trouble you will keep me safe in your dwelling; you will hide me in the shelter of your sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.
Lord exalted my head above the enemies who surround me; at your sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the Lord.
Hear my voice when I call, Lord; be merciful to me and answer me. My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, Lord, I will seek.
Lord Do not hide your face from
me, do not turn your servant away in anger; you have been my helper.
Do not reject me or forsake me, God, you are my Savior.
Though others may forsake me, I know you my Lord will receive me. Teach me your way, Lord.
lead me in a straight path because of my oppressors. Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes, for false witnesses’ revolt against me, spouting malicious accusations.
I remain confident of this: I will see he goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. I will Wait for the Lord.
Heavenly Father, I come to You in Jesus Christ’s Holy Name. Lord God, Creator of Heaven and Earth, as Your child I come to You to worship You as You desire, in Spirit and in Truth. According to John 4:42, I know that Jesus is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world. I believe in Him. Lord God, according to John 9,
You seek those who worship You and do Your will (Matt. 7:21) out of the love you have placed in my heart for You. Lord create in me a clean heart, a broken and contrite heart, a right heart, repentant in all my ways.
Let nothing be done in strife or vain glory, but in humbleness of mind, knowing that with You Father God, all things are possible Lord we do not come to worship just to be doing something, but we come to You out of the intimate love relationship we have with You through the Blood and the Cross.
You have created within us a heart of Thanksgiving. We choose to abide in the Spirit of Truth, so that we are in a continued state of Fellowship and Worship with You. According to psalm 42 vs 1-2t David said, As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? I sing praises to You all my days. Create in me a heart of worship for I rejoice only in You.
You are my joy and the lifter of my head(s)! Through Your Spirit, lead me in rivers of Your worship and truth. Let my hands be lifted up to You as I go through this day and make my life be a living sacrifice, that You would be glorified, honored, and my life be a praise, daily
Heavenly Father I come to You in Jesus Christ’s Holy Name. I praise You and worship You.
